Baltimore Lords starter Dan Valenti was in the groove. He led his team to a win over the Detroit Wolverines, 3-2. Leon Fairley earned the save, his 2nd. The win for the Lords lifted their record to 80-62.

Who knows how it would've ended, had it not been for Tim McNeely? The 25-year old center fielder McNeely stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the 12th inning to put Baltimore up, 3-2. For the game, he was 3 for 5, including 1 double and 2 singles.

"To become 'battle-tested,'" said McNeely, "you need to compete in this kind of contest."
