The Chicago Traders did just enough to sneak past the Pittsburgh Industrials, 6-5, at Union Field. Chicago second baseman Rafael Fuentes, in particular, had a standout performance. The win puts Chicago at 77-67 this season.

The game was still up for grabs in the bottom of the ninth. With two out, Fuentes hit a splitter from Gordie Kleiss for a run-scoring single. The Traders, in dramatic fashion, had a walk-off win.

Chicago manager Larry Link was pleased with the team's effort. "Our guys played hard, they played all the way through," he said.
