The San Francisco Seagulls took on the Houston Drillers at Sam Houston Field.

Jose Barroso impressed in the 8-4 San Francisco win over Houston. Barroso, who is tied for 10th in the ABL with a .911 OPS, went 3 for 4 with 3 singles and a walk, while scoring 3 times. Pete Ragsdale, who finished 4th in the ABL in ERA with 1.98 in 1967, was the winning pitcher. Over 8 innings, he allowed 4 runs on 11 hits, with no walks and 1 strikeout.

San Francisco pitcher Pete Ragsdale contributed a timely at-bat in the top of the fifth. With two down, he hit a sinker to center field for a 2-run single. It was his 17th hit of the season and put the Seagulls ahead, 7-2.

"I've been criticized for being a slacker, but the one thing I do care about is winning," Ragsdale told the San Francisco Daily News.

San Francisco, at 86-60, holds down first place in the American Baseball League Western Division.
