Knickerbockers Blank Eagles, Forbes Winner
|
In an impressive outing, Jack Forbes blanked the Washington Eagles 2-0.
"I'm getting a lot more downward movement instead of side to side. That side-to-side stuff can get hit a long way," said Forbes, who is throwing with more of an overhand motion.
"It's not rocket science. It was just a little adjustment, but that's all it took."
The New York hurler held Washington scoreless, allowed 8 hits, chalked up 3 strikeouts and yielded 2 walks.
This season, Forbes has fashioned a 12-9 mark and 2.90 ERA in 195.1 innings. Opposing clubs are batting .264 against him and he has logged 84 strikeouts.
