Seagulls Get Past Los Angeles for 2-1 Win
In a low-scoring contest between the San Francisco Seagulls and the Los Angeles Pobladores, Tim Stambaugh, who led the ABL in ERA with 1.93 in 1971, proved to be the difference. The San Francisco right-hander earned props for his performance in the 2-1 Seagulls win. San Francisco has now won 3 in a row.

The Seagulls were down to their last out in the bottom of the ninth inning, when two-time All-Star Jose Barroso landed a big blow. He turned a full count slider from George Cooper into a 2-run single. The walk-off single sent the Mission Field denizens into a frenzy and sent the Seagulls home with a thrilling 2-1 win.

"We were in it," said Los Angeles manager Kurt Peterson. "We just didn't score enough runs."
