Toronto starter Joe Scott pitched well against the Chicago Hawks at Dominion Field. The right-hander led his team to a win, 5-3. In 7 innings, Scott surrendered 7 hits, while striking out 5 and walking 1. He allowed 3 runs. Don LeoGrande recorded the save, making him 5 for 12.
The Hurons got a big at-bat from right fielder Pete Hambrick. For the game, Hambrick was 1-3 with a home run and a walk, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. In the bottom of the sixth, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a 3-run home run. His 9th home run of the season gave Toronto a 4-1 lead.
"We've hit a rough patch right now," said Chicago skipper Mike Flaherty.
