The San Francisco Seagulls withstood an impressive performance by Seattle catcher Dave Thomas to defeat the Emeralds, 6-4, at Puget Field. Thomas was 3-4 with 3 singles. He scored 2 runs. Pete Ragsdale picked up the win with 7.2 innings of work. He allowed 4 runs on 12 hits, while walking 0 and striking out 5. On the season, he is now 13-7. San Francisco used the hitting of Bobby Tapia to pick up the win. The right fielder clubbed a 2-run home run in the top of the third inning to put the Seagulls on top, 4-2. For the game, Tapia had 1 home run and 1 single in 5 at-bats.
