The San Francisco Seagulls went home winners at Mission Field, thanks in large part to starter Ramon Juarez. Juarez stifled the Seattle Emeralds, enabling San Francisco to grab the 5-1 win. Dan Wood nailed down his 7th save. San Francisco goes to 90-63. The win puts them 7½ games up in their division.

The game was on the line with two out in the top of the eighth inning, but Dan Wood didn't flinch. With a runner on 2nd and Seattle trailing 2-1, Wood retired Al Link to end the threat. "Nothing to it," said Wood, with a wink.
