Seagulls Edge Past Emeralds, 4-3
The San Francisco Seagulls locked up a win at Puget Field, knocking off the Seattle Emeralds, 4-3. On the mound for San Francisco was right-hander Jerry Patrick. He played a major role in the triumph. Reliever Archie Sereni picked up the win. His record improves to 12-7. Eric Roe took the loss. San Francisco is now 91-67, while Seattle is 71-87.

San Francisco used the timely hitting of Scott Wagner to seize the win. The third baseman stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the ninth inning to put the Seagulls on top, 4-3. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

"You have to trust that what you're doing is going to produce results," said Patrick.
