Dallas catcher Dan Hamlyn made his presence felt in the 6-5 Wranglers triumph over the Twin Cities Northmen. Hamlyn hit 3 home runs. He drove in 4 runs and scored three times. Barry Gilmore got the save, his 17th in 21 chances. The American Baseball League Western Division-leading Wranglers have a record of 103-56.

Hamlyn had a game-changing home run in the top of the tenth. On a 1-2 cutter from Tommy Lloyd, he banged a solo home run to left, giving the Wranglers a 6-5 lead. It was the 19th home run of the year for Hamlyn.

Hamlyn told the Dallas Citizen: "I'm the straw that stirs the drink."
