Chicago got a valiant performance from pitcher Armando Estrada, but it wasn't enough to beat the Los Angeles Pobladores. Los Angeles won the game, 4-3. Estrada threw 7.0 innings of 3-hit ball for the losing team. The win was credited to Leon Fairley in relief. His record improves to 6-5. Gary Ingram took the loss. Los Angeles is now 84-76, Chicago 64-96.

Los Angeles needed the clutch hitting of Richie Lord to seal the deal. The right fielder swatted a solo home run in the top of the 11th inning to put the Pobladores on top, 4-3. For the game, Lord had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.

"We're all about heart and hustle on this team. That's what wins ballgames," Lord told the Los Angeles Times.
