San Francisco Sends Houston Packing with 4-1 Loss
Tim Stambaugh, who finished 2nd in the ABL in wins with 19 in 1974, imposed his will on the Drillers from the get-go. Relying mainly on his changeup, the right-hander spearheaded the 4-1 San Francisco triumph. With the loss, Houston sinks to 9-8.

The Seagulls benefited from a costly error in the top of the third. With Jim Baxter at bat and San Francisco leading 1-0, the Houston miscue allowed San Francisco to plate 1 and take the lead, 2-0.

"We're in a marathon, not a sprint," said Baxter. "But I like how we're playing right now."
