Detroit Sends Boston Packing with 13-3 Loss
The Detroit Wolverines picked up a win at Atlantic Avenue Grounds, dropping the Boston Terriers, 13-3. Jim Bryant, who finished 3rd in the ABL in wins with 18 in 1972, was the difference-maker. Bryant got the win, improving to 2-0. He gave up 7 hits and walked 2 over 7.1 innings. He allowed 2 runs. The Terriers, now 6-12, continue their poor start.

Bryant contributed a big hit, a bases-clearing double, for Detroit in the top of the fourth. With his team trailing 1-0, Bryant took a fastball from David Juarez and stroked the double to center. His 1st double of the season allowed the Wolverines to leap in front, 3-1.

"Jim was hitting his spots and everything had life," said Detroit manager Alex Wobbema.
