In a tight contest between the New York Empires and the Toronto Hurons, Andy Humphrey was the determining factor. The New York right-hander sparkled in his team's 2-1 win. Humphrey got the win, improving to 2-2. He gave up 3 hits and walked 0 over 7 innings. He allowed 1 run. Tom Duncan picked up the save, his 3rd.
