Generals Clip Wolverines, 6-5
|
The Atlanta Generals picked up a win at Wolverine Field, downing the Detroit Wolverines, 6-5. On the mound for Atlanta was left-hander George Palmer, who played a pivotal role in the win. Palmer got the win, improving to 1-2. He gave up 3 hits and walked 3 over 6 innings. He allowed 4 runs. The win gives Atlanta a record of 7-10.
Atlanta used the timely hitting of Richie Lord to seize the win. The right fielder stroked a 2-run single in the top of the seventh inning to put the Generals on top, 6-4. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"We just try to have good at-bats, whether we're winning, losing, or tied," said Lord.
