Seagulls Advance to League Championship Series
|
The San Francisco Seagulls said they felt the Divisional Round with the Los Angeles Pobladores would go the distance.
But it didn't end up being that difficult, as San Francisco advanced to the League Championship Series with a 6-0 score, to clinch the series 4-2 at Mission Field.
"Whether it goes to the final game or not, we faced a good team and got the job done. It's a big momentum boost for us," said Jose Sosa, who was named series MVP. "We're all feeling good about our chances to win the World Series."
For the series, Sosa hit .500 with a .538 on-base percentage. He had 0 home runs, drove in 2 RBI and scored 5 runs.
The San Francisco Seagulls will play against the Montreal Habitants in the next round. Montreal won their series against the New York Empires 4 games to 1. The League Championship Series schedule will be announced after the Divisional Round finishes.
