Series Lead Cut to 1 for Pittsburgh After 3-1 Loss
The Cleveland Bobcats have closed some of the gap between themselves and the series-leading Pittsburgh Industrials, winning, 3-1, at Lakefront Stadium. Bobcats right-hander Myron Baird threw 6.1 innings of 4-hit ball. The win cuts the deficit facing the Bobcats to 2-1 in the best-of-7 League Championship Series.

Cleveland took a 3-1 lead in the bottom of the eighth inning, when Bill Harper hit a clutch 3-run home run to bring Bobcats fans to their feet.

"Myron gets tougher when he has to, makes a big pitch when he has to," said Cleveland skipper Daniel Mays.

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Lakefront Stadium in Cleveland.
