Hurons Nip Emeralds, 1-0
|
The home crowd had a good time watching the Seattle Emeralds and Toronto Hurons get after it.
The Toronto Hurons knocked off the Seattle Emeralds, 1-0. Toronto starter Joe Scott pitched a gem. The Emeralds fall to 8-18 and continue their unimpressive start to the 1967 season.
Pete Hambrick was the walk-off hero for Toronto. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Hurons right fielder hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.
"We fed off the energy of the crowd at the end," Scott said.
