The Detroit Wolverines got a good effort from starter Juan Rodriguez in defeating the Los Angeles Pobladores at San Vicente Park. The final score was 5-2. Rodriguez, the winner, moves to 3-1. He threw 7 innings of 4-hit ball, while fanning 5 and giving up 5 walks. The Pobladores fall to 11-18 and continue their lackluster start to the 1975 season.

Joe Cooper had a big 2-run home run for the Wolverines in the top of the fourth inning. With Detroit leading 2-1 and a runner on 1st, he sized up a sinker from Bob Powell, who is tied for 7th in the ABL in innings pitched with 43.1, and punished it. The result was his 1st home run of the season, which put the Wolverines on top, 4-1.

Cooper said his team "played with focus."
