Bobcats 5-3 Winners Versus Los Angeles
|
The Cleveland Bobcats topped the Los Angeles Blockbusters, 5-3, in National Baseball League action at Blockbuster Stadium. The game was highlighted by the performance of Cleveland pitcher Bob Yolton. Yolton yielded 3 runs over 6 innings to notch the win. He scattered 4 hits, walked 0, and struck out 1. His record improves to 2-1. Joe Clabaugh, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 7th save.
Cleveland used the timely hitting of Don Pelletier to seize the win. The right fielder stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the seventh inning to put the Bobcats on top, 4-3. It was his only hit in 2 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"Say want you want about this team, they play nine innings hard," said Cleveland manager Daniel Mays.
The loss puts Los Angeles at 16-13.
