Milwaukee wasted an exceptional performance by pitcher John Gannon, falling to the St. Louis Explorers, 2-1. Gannon threw 7.0 innings of 5-hit ball for the losing team. Milwaukee falls to 8-21.
The Explorers got a clutch hit from center fielder Ken Osterhage. In the bottom of the tenth, he delivered a run-scoring single to win the game for the Explorers.
"We busted our tails," said Milwaukee manager Brandon Dudley. "But we came up short."
