Cincinnati Packers starter Erv Koenig turned in a top-notch performance against the Denver Burros at Gates Crescent Park. The result was a win for the Packers, 6-2. Cincinnati is now 12-19.
Cincinnati used a timely hit from Lee McGee to get the win. The pinch hitter stroked a 2-run double in the top of the ninth inning to put the Packers ahead, 3-2. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it made an impact.
"Winning is always a team effort," McGee said after the game.
