Dairymen Win at St. Louis, 5-3
|
Milwaukee picked up a win at Corps of Discovery Stadium, bumping off the St. Louis Explorers, 5-3. Pitcher Chris Davalos was a major reason the Dairymen emerged victorious. Davalos picked up the win for Milwaukee, going 8 innings. He gave up 3 runs on 7 hits. He now sports a record of 2-4. Pete Costabile earned his 1st save, after closing out the game.
It could have been a different outcome for Milwaukee, had it not been for Ray Bell, the 18-year old shortstop . Bell contributed a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the top of the fifth inning to put Milwaukee up, 1-0.
"I went out and just tried to do my job," said Davalos.
Milwaukee, now 9-21, is off to a slow start.
