Hawks Pull Out Late-Game Win, 8-7
|
The timely hitting of Marv Haynes helped the Chicago Hawks down the Boston Terriers, 8-7. Haynes went 3-4 with a home run, a double, and a walk, while scoring 2 and driving in 3 for the Hawks. The Terriers, at 11-21, have lost 4 straight games.
The game was still up for grabs in the bottom of the ninth. With two out, Haynes hit a curveball from David Juarez for a run-scoring double. The Hawks, in dramatic fashion, had a walk-off win.
"This place was rocking at the end," Haynes said.
