Cox Now 6-2 Following 1-0 Win
|
Larry Cox, who finished 2nd in the NBL in wins with 20 in 1970, was in top form in a tight contest between Chicago and New York. The Traders right-hander helped his team beat the Knickerbockers, 1-0. New York has now lost 5 in a row.
Cox was in the zone all game. He frustrated New York hitters while giving the Traders 8 innings of quality work. Cox threw 114 pitches, allowing 3 hits and getting 5 punchouts.
"This game will punch you right in the mouth," said Cox. "My job is to show up and give my team a chance."
