Emeralds Beat Seagulls, 3-2

The Seattle Emeralds knocked off the San Francisco Seagulls, 3-2, in American Baseball League action at Puget Field. Seattle pitcher and Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, native Denny Goldberg had an outstanding performance. Goldberg yielded 1 run over 7 innings to notch the win. He scattered 5 hits, walked 2, and struck out 3. His record improves to 6-1. Phil Moore earned the save for Seattle, his 6th of the year.
Seattle catcher Eddie Rodriguez helped the Emeralds go up, 2-1, in the bottom of the seventh inning. With the game tied, Rodriguez hit a run-scoring single off San Francisco pitcher Jerry Patrick.
"If you chase it, you need to get it," said Seattle skipper Mark Velez.
