Generals Earn 3-2 Home Win
|
The Atlanta Generals earned a close win over the Toronto Hurons, thanks in part to Frank Noorani. The Atlanta left-hander, who led the ABL in saves with 28 in 1972, played a key role in the 3-2 victory. Noorani yielded 1 run over 6.1 innings to notch the win. He scattered 4 hits, walked 3, and struck out 3. His record improves to 3-4. Picking up his 2nd save was former first round draft pick Bill Wilson.
Kyle Devine had a big 2-run double for the Generals in the bottom of the second inning. With Atlanta leading 1-0 and runners on 1st and 3rd, he got a fastball from Bill John, who leads the ABL in wins with 6, and swatted a double to right. It was his 9th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Generals ahead, 3-0.
"We played a good game and came out on top," said Devine.
Atlanta has won 3 straight, while Toronto has lost 3 in a row.
