Terriers Pull Back to .500 With Win Over Hurons
|
Boston Terriers starter Brian Long was in a groove as he led his team to a win over the Toronto Hurons, 4-3. Long got the win, improving to 4-5. He allowed 6 hits and walked 0 over 7 innings. Long allowed 3 runs. Mark Gaynor sewed up the save, his 6th.
Boston used a timely hit from Harvey Alterman to get the win. The shortstop stroked a bases-clearing double in the top of the seventh inning to put the Terriers ahead, 4-1. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it made an impact.
"This losing is getting old," said Toronto manager Jim Burns.
Toronto now has a 9-game losing streak.
