Los Angeles Loses, 10-7, in 11
Good production from first baseman Troy Stallings helped the San Diego Captains topple the Los Angeles Blockbusters, 10-7. Stallings was 4 for 5 with a home run, 3 singles, and a walk, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once for the Captains. The Blockbusters, now 19-23, have lost 5 straight.

The decisive blow was delivered by Ron Byrd in the bottom of the 11th when he hit a 3-run home run off 23-year old right-handed pitcher Tom Benson to win the game for San Diego. The home crowd went nuts.

Afterward, Los Angeles manager John Trausch said: "We've hit a rough patch."
