Seagulls Suffer One-Run Loss at Seattle
Though he had a stellar game, Chuck Roberts could not prevent his team, the San Francisco Seagulls, from losing, 4-3, to the Seattle Emeralds. Roberts belted 2 home runs. Seattle pitcher Leon Finkel got the win, upping his record to 1-1. Bill Fletcher got the loss. Fred Wild earned his 1st save, after closing out the game.

In the bottom of the third, Seattle left fielder Alex Rojas had a productive at-bat. With runners on 1st and 2nd and one out, Rojas stroked a run-scoring single to left. It made the score 2-1, Seattle. For the game, he was 2-4 with a double, while scoring 2 runs.

Seattle manager Mark Velez was pleased with the team's effort. "Our guys played hard, they played all the way through," he said.

With the win, Seattle goes to 19-26, while the Seagulls fall to 24-21.
