Toronto Downed, 5-3, by Generals
|
The Atlanta Generals picked up a win at Atlantic Station Field, taking down the Toronto Hurons, 5-3. Starting pitcher Gary Ovitt was a big reason why. Atlanta is now 24-19, Toronto 18-27.
Ed Mika, who leads the ABL in home runs with 12, took Toronto hurler Steve Persenaire deep in the bottom of the eighth. His 2-run home run put the Generals on top, 5-3. In all, Mika had 1 single in addition to the home run, while going 2 for 4.
"I just kind of blacked out and executed my pitches," said Ovitt.
