The Los Angeles Pobladores overcame a pretty good performance by San Francisco third baseman John Cobb, beating the Seagulls, 8-6, at Mission Field. Cobb went 2 for 5 with a home run. He scored 2 runs and drove in 3. Reliever Shane Frassrand picked up the win. His record improves to 1-0. Dan Wood took the loss. With the win, Los Angeles improves its record to 2-3.

Los Angeles used the timely hitting of Joe Roberson to seize the win. The center fielder stroked a 2-run single in the top of the ninth inning to put the Pobladores on top, 8-6. It was his only hit in 3 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

"We'll take some time to unwind," said Roberson, "and then get after the next one."
