The rain could not keep the home crowd from enjoying a good ballgame.

The performance of Don Johnson proved critical in helping San Francisco beat Twin Cities, 7-6. The Seagulls first baseman was 3-4 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk, while scoring 3. Archie Sereni, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 11th save.

San Francisco used the hitting of Jose Barroso to pick up the win. The catcher clubbed a run-scoring single in the top of the fourth inning to put the Seagulls on top, 5-4. For the game, Barroso had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.

"If you want to be considered a good team, these are the kind of games you have to win," said San Francisco manager Al Borie.

With the win, San Francisco raised its record to 29-19.
