Quakers Lose at Home, 2-1
The Milwaukee Dairymen beat the Philadelphia Quakers, 2-1, at Quakers Stadium. Starting pitcher Dan Valenti was a big reason why. He held his opponent in check all game. The Dairymen go to 21-28, putting them last in the National Baseball League Western Division.

Milwaukee used the hitting of Champ Arkle to pick up the win. The third baseman clubbed a solo home run in the top of the seventh inning to put the Dairymen on top, 2-1. For the game, Arkle had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.

"Some games build character," said Milwaukee manager Brandon Dudley. "Like this one."
