The Brooklyn Bluebirds stopped the Philadelphia Quakers, 7-3, at Quakers Stadium. The Bluebirds got a big game from Mike LeDuc, who went 2-5 with a home run and a double. He scored 2 runs and drove in 4. Picking up the win was Dick Conway. He went 8 innings, allowing 3 runs on 9 hits. The right--hander struck out 8 and walked 1. The last-place Bluebirds sport a record of 24-28.
With Brooklyn leading 3-1 in the top of the fourth, LeDuc hit a splitter from Pat Graham for a bases-clearing double. It was his 5th double of the season and put the Bluebirds ahead, 6-1.
"We played a good game and came out on top," said LeDuc.
