Emeralds Prevail, 5-3, Over Twin Cities
|
Seattle starter Nate Summers pitched well against the Twin Cities Northmen at Puget Field. The right-hander led his team to a win, 5-3. Summers went 7 innings to notch the win. He scattered 9 hits, walked 1, and struck out 4. His record improves to 1-2. The save went to Dave Alexander, number 4 for him.
The Emeralds got a big at-bat from second baseman Johnny Anderson. For the game, Anderson was 1-4 with a double and was hit by a pitch. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. In the bottom of the sixth, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a 2-run double. His 7th double of the season gave Seattle a 5-3 lead.
"Win or lose, we pick each other up in this clubhouse," Anderson told the Seattle Gazette.
The Emeralds raised their record to 20-34.
