Dallas Wranglers starter Barry Gilmore turned in an exceptional performance against the Detroit Wolverines at Wolverine Field, resulting in a Dallas win, 4-1. Gilmore, now 10-2, was the winner. In 8 innings, he gave up 5 hits, while striking out 5, walking 2, and allowing 1 run. Frank Dunn got the save, the 13th for him this season.

With Dallas leading 1-0 in the top of the second, Gilmore hit a cutter from Jim Bryant for a run-scoring double. It was his 1st double of the season and put the Wranglers ahead, 2-0.

"Getting ahead of the hitters was the key," said Gilmore.

With the victory, the Wranglers upped their record to 34-23.
