Extra-Inning Walk-Off Win for Industrials
|
The Pittsburgh Industrials wiggled past the Cleveland Bobcats, 3-2, at Allegheny Field. The win was highlighted by the performance of Pittsburgh pitcher Dennis Visco. Visco, who leads the NBL in innings pitched with 100.1, went the distance for Pittsburgh. He gave up 2 runs on 6 hits. The win elevated the Industrials to 33-29.
The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the tenth inning, when Pittsburgh center fielder Carlos Chavez, facing Pat Burkholder, had a run-scoring sacrifice fly. It gave the Industrials the 3-2 win.
"We fed off the energy of the crowd at the end," Visco said.
