Los Angeles right fielder Jim Brookins pounded New York Knickerbockers pitchers at Blockbuster Stadium, but it was not enough to keep the Blockbusters from falling, 8-7. Brookins went 4 for 5 with 2 home runs and 2 singles. He drove in 3 runs and scored twice. Ollie Hundley was called on to finish, recording his 14th save. New York is third in the National Baseball League Eastern Division with a record of 35-32.

New York relied on the bat of Bob Marston to get the win. The center fielder ripped a 2-run double in the top of the first inning to put the Knickerbockers ahead, 2-0. For the game, Marston had 1 double and 1 triple in 5 at-bats.
