7 Straight Wins for Seagulls
The San Francisco Seagulls defeated the Boston Terriers, 9-6. Catcher Jim Baxter deserved a large share of the credit. Baxter was 4-4 with 4 singles and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once for the Seagulls. Tim Stambaugh, the winner, is now 9-4. He struck out 4 and walked 3 over 6 innings, while allowing 5 runs on 7 hits. The save was credited to Archie Sereni, his 16th.

Jose Barroso came through with a big-time hit for San Francisco. The first baseman smacked a 2-run home run in the top of the seventh inning to give his team the lead, 6-5. It was his only hit, but it was clutch.

"We'll enjoy this ride as long as it lasts," said Seagulls manager Al Borie.

The first-place Seagulls have won 7 straight.
