Wolverines Take Down Lords, 6-5
The Detroit Wolverines picked up a win at Wolverine Field, knocking off the Baltimore Lords, 6-5, in 10 innings. Starting pitcher William Matz played a key role in the triumph. The win puts Detroit at 38-31 this season.

The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the tenth inning, when Detroit third baseman Duane Simmons, facing Kenny Wilson, had a run-scoring walk. It gave the Wolverines the 6-5 win.

"Throwing strikes was the main thing," Matz said.
