Henderson Goes Yard 3 Times
Tuesday, May 4th , 1976
Boston Terriers bombardier Quinton Henderson set his sights on the stands and blasted three balls over the fence as his club beat the Chicago Hawks, 7-6.
"I guess you could say I was a good guesser today, especially on the last one," Henderson told writers in the postgame press room. "I was ahead in the count, so I gambled that I'd get a certain pitch, and got all of it."
For the game, the Boston right fielder had 3 hits in 4 at-bats, drove in 6, and scored 3 runs.
Quinton Henderson hit a solo-shot off Ron Woods in the 1st, flied out in the 3rd, hit a two-run home run off Glenn Bailey in the 5th, walked in the 7th and hit a three-run home run off Angel Villatoro in the 9th.
During the current season Henderson is batting at a .268 clip with 3 home runs and 11 RBIs. He has played in 19 games and scored 8 times.
