Coomes at His Best, Blanks Seattle

In a remarkable performance, Dallas Wranglers starter Steve Coomes beat the Seattle Emeralds, 5-0, in an impressive 3-hit shutout.
"My arm felt good, mechanics were good and my stuff was working," he said later. "It doesn't get any better than this."
The Wranglers hurler finished with 9 strikeouts and no walks. He showed pinpoint control and a sharp fastball.
"It was a rough one for my guys," Seattle manager Mark Velez said, following the game. "We weren't at our best and their guy was."
His record for the year is 3-3 in 6 starts and Coomes has a 3.07 ERA.
