Traders-Lords Deal: Veirs for Precourt Monday, July 31st , 1967 In a hastily called press conference, Chicago announced today a trade with Baltimore that will send 29-year old LHP Pete Veirs and 28-year old RHP Wade English to the Lords in exchange for 18-year old CF Fran Precourt, 19-year old 3B Greg Russell, a 2nd round draft pick, and a 3rd round draft pick. All players are expected to be in their respective new cities in time for today's games. To date this season, Veirs has a record of 6 wins and 6 losses and a 3.54 ERA. He has appeared in 21 games and struck out 113 in 137.1 innings. |
