D'Amico Superb Against Philadelphia
Sunday, June 8th , 1975
Brooklyn Bluebirds starter Frank D'Amico really did a number on the Philadelphia Quakers, shutting them out, 4-0, on 7 hits in a complete game victory. He issued no walks and had 2 strikeouts.
"We didn't have good at-bats," said Philadelphia manager Jeff Green. "I don't make excuses, but when we were playing the game, our energy didn't show. That comes from either extremely good pitching or extremely lousy hitting and seeing as our team has a bunch of good hitters, I have to tip my cap to D'Amico."
So far in 13 appearances this season, D'Amico has recorded 2 wins and sustained 1 loss. He has pitched 40 innings, yielded 33 hits, fanned 15 and has a 0.90 ERA.
