Atlanta Blanks Detroit, Davis Winner
Sunday, June 15th , 1975
In an outstanding mound performance, Atlanta Generals starter Bill Davis fired a complete-game shutout against the Detroit Wolverines at Atlantic Station Field.
Davis was the key to the 6-0 Atlanta win. The 24-year-old right-hander was in high spirits for much of the game, his mood largely unfazed by the 8 hits and 2 walks he allowed.
"8 hits?" he said with a laugh following the game. "Listen, I'd be happy with a 30-hitter, as long as it was a shutout."
So far this season, Davis has a 5-6 record with a 3.17 ERA.
