Lester Touches All the Bases, Hits for Cycle

Dave Lester had a banner day at the plate, stringing together all four legs of the cycle as the New York Knickerbockers beat the Washington Eagles, 11-6.
Lester drilled 4 hits in 5 at-bats, collecting 5 runs batted in and scoring 3 runs to capture the win for New York.
"I was fortunate to see some good pitches and I was fortunate to be able to make the most of them," he said later. "It was a good day for us."
Dave Lester grounded out in the 1st, hit a solo-shot off Curt Kirkley in the 3rd, hit an RBI single in the 5th, flied out in the 6th, hit an RBI triple in the 8th and hit a two-run double in the 9th.
Lester is hitting .283 this season with 8 home runs, 36 RBIs and 33 runs scored. He has 68 hits in 240 at-bats.
