ABL Names Best Player
Monday, July 5th , 1976
Not every ball that came off Tyree Davis's bat last week was a line drive or a towering shot -- it just seemed that way to the teams that played the Chicago Hawks. For his exploits, Davis was named this week's American Baseball League Player of the Week award.
The Chicago first baseman put up 11 hits in 25 at-bats and 4 home runs while hitting .440 with 9 RBIs and 9 runs scored.
For the season, Davis is currently batting .282 with 11 home runs and 35 RBIs. In 83 games he has reached base at a .374 rate and scored 35 runs to date.
