Beers Superb Against Boston
Saturday, July 10th , 1976
Mike Beers was in a mood to talk following the Toronto Hurons contest against the Boston Terriers, expounding to BNN reporters on his pitching philosophy. He had good reason to be excitable, having tossed a complete game shutout of the Terriers, 2-0.

"There are three important elements in pitching success: location, location, and location," Beers said. "I was hitting my spots time and time again."

The right-hander blanked Boston on a 5-hitter, allowing no walks and racking up 4 strikeouts.

This season, Beers has fashioned a 5-6 mark and 3.00 ERA in 102 innings. Opposing clubs are batting .254 against him and he has logged 52 strikeouts.
