Davis Too Tough, Blanks Montreal
Friday, August 20th , 1976
Goose eggs were the order of the day for the Montreal Habitants as starter Bill Davis shut them out, 3-0, at Atlantic Station Field. The Atlanta pitcher struck out 7 and walked 0 while allowing 7 hits.

"Davis was good but he wasn't flawless," Montreal manager Michel Alexandre Cauchon said. "We had a few opportunities to make something happen and we didn't do it. Not to take anything away from Atlanta, but this is on us."

To this point in the season, Davis shows a 14-5 record, 27 starts, 205 innings, 113 strikeouts and a 2.06 ERA.
