Blockbusters Blank Chicago, Hamby Winner Sunday, July 14th , 1974 In a remarkable performance, Los Angeles Blockbusters starter Joe Hamby beat the Chicago Traders, 1-0, in an impressive 5-hit shutout. "My arm felt good, mechanics were good and my stuff was working," he said later. "It doesn't get any better than this." The Blockbusters hurler finished with 4 strikeouts and 2 walks. He showed pinpoint control and a sharp fastball. "It was a rough one for my guys," Chicago manager Larry Link said, following the game. "We weren't at our best and their guy was."
